INTRODUCTION TO NSG. THEORY

1. What is "Nursing" and why did you choose to study Nursing?
(Limit to 5 sentences only)

As we all know, nursing is a profession dedicated to caring for

the general and specialized well-being of patients. Furthermore,
according to Yolanda smith, Nursing is a healthcare profession
that focuses on the care of individuals and their families to
help them recover from illness and maintain optimal health and
quality of life. My mother is an RN, and she is my inspiration
to become a nurse. I want this career since I feel that helping
others is the most fulfilling thing a person can do with their
life. Nursing gives you the chance to provide effective care for
others in a hands-on environment, where you can actually
improve people's lives at what could otherwise be a terrible
moment for them.

2. Why are Nursing theories important in the Nursing Practice?

Because nursing theories help recognize what should set the

foundation of practice by explicitly describing nursing. As we know,
Nursing theories is the basis of nursing practice today. Nursing
theories provide the foundations of nursing practice, generate
further knowledge, and indicate which direction nursing should
develop in the future (Brown, 1964). Nursing theories prepare the
nurses to reflect on the assumptions and question the nursing
values, thus further defining nursing and increasing the knowledge
base.

3. Why is it important to learn in Nursing School?

Due to the fact that nursing school is designed to be challenging in

order to prepare graduates for the demands of the profession. It
takes effort, practical instruction, and real-world experience to learn
how to strike a balance between compassionate care and precise
science.
