Introduction

The purpose of this report is to recommend how the college can deal with the problem of
recent phone theft. It has been suggested that students should be banned from bringing
phones into college.
Advantages
A group of students support this idea and exposes the following points:
·        Students would never lose their mobile phones, the root problem would be
solved.
·        By not having mobile phones at college, thieves could not steal them.
·        A large number of students use their mobile phones to cheat on exams, by
banning them, honesty in tests would be promoted.
Disadvantages
On the other hand, many students protest the recent decision of the director. They mention
the cons that this idea would have.
·        All teachers use WhatsApp groups in order to communicate with their students
and notify them if there will be change of classroom or to give exams scores, banning
mobile phones just bring about disorganization and discontent in the students
·        It will be very difficult to ban mobile phones, students will always find a way to
take them to college.
Recommendations
Although both parts have very valid points, mobile phones have become an essential tool for
students and teachers. It could cause more problems if the director decides to ban them. I
would recommend instead meeting with students and communicating about recent mobile
phone thefts, newsletter or announcements could be made so everyone is aware.
