theory in the early 20th century. In lieu with this, name three nursing leaders of
20th century and their contribution to nursing.

The three nursing leaders of 20th century are; Florence nightingale, Pastor Theodor Fliedner and
his wife, Friederike. Florence nightingale, she founded nursing school during 1860, which was the
first to provide both theory-based knowledge and clinical skill building. In Germany, Kaiserswerth
the institute for the training of deaconesses (the first formal training school for nurses) was
established by Pastor Theodor Fliedner and his wife, Friederike.
