1. Title of the Practice:


PLACEMENT TRAINING
2. objective of the Practice:

The following objectives are mainly focused in training and placement.

 Opportunity to grasp the broad exploration of various career options


 Developing self-confidence and self-reliance
 Enriching soft skills and analytical skills
 Creating interest for higher studies
 Promoting entrepreneurship

3.The Context:
 In the present competitive markets, choosing of right path is not
an easy task for the students. They must be career-focused and
fully aware of the industry and social needs, placement training
through different training processes is most essential to acquire
all such skills.
 The Main focus is to bring more of Tier- I companies and Core
companies with good packages to the campus.

The practice:
Based on this view in JSREC placement cell is actively
function with team of faculty members in the following aspects such as,
 Enough training has given to improve the students
Communication skills, soft skills and aptitude to enhance their
skill set.
 Experts in different fields of engineering share their experience
very often with students to know the real scenario prevailing in
the industry.
 More than 50 companies visit the campus for the recruitment
process.
 In the selection panel, the process of online test is first
conducted and based on the performance the students are
shortlisted.
 After the technical interview is conducted by HR from various
MNC’s then the selected students name list handed over by
companies HR to the placement officer.
 This kind of process is always practiced by students through
mock interviews organized by Placement and Training
department in an effective manner.

4. Evidence of Success:

 The continuous effort and practice is reflected in the campus


placement of the students. The total placement scenario has been
changed and the placement percentage has taken an upward trend year-
by-year.
 The companies expectation and skill set of the students are matched
well so the students are getting placement in MNC’s and core based
companies.
 Average salary ratio is increased year by year.
 Larger section of the students get inclined to jobs of different flavor
beyond specific technical skill sets.
 In addition placement training is helping the students to understand
their fondness towards higher studies.
5. Problems Encountered and Resources Required

The problems encountered in implementing the practice are as follows:

 Most of the students came from rural background make them to feel
difficult to understand the expectation of industry needs.
 Difficulty in motivating students for higher studies and public service
examinations for which attending classes beyond the regular class
hours is a requirement

Although there are various problems, the institute has been able
to implement the practice effectively through decentralizing the
training and placement activities and mobilizing its technical and non-
technical resources in an efficient manner.

 Knowledge on how to upgrade the existing system in order to keep


abreast with the latest technologies.
