Elect. Cooking Range

General
The range is designed Lo give well regulated, uniform heat
throughout t h e oven and over the griddle-hotplate. The oven and
griddle-hotplate should be thoroughly preheated before use. The
'3' heat position of the switches' is for quick preheating.

Oven
The oven is provided with an upper heating unit located on
the top of the compartment and a lower heating unit located under
the unit cover at the bottom ol' the compartment. Each heating
unit is independently regulated for proper ratio of '3', '2' and
'1' heat, to suit the product being baked or roasted, by means of
3-heat switch located in the switch box.
The oven must be thoroughly preheated to secure satisfactory.
baking or roasting. The oven will not bake or roast uniformly if
not sufficiently preheated. To preheat oven, turn the two 3-heat
switches to '3' position and keep oven door closed,
with the two switches on '3' position, the oven will reach the
temperature of 200% in approximately 40 minutes. The one may, of
course, be preheated with the 3-heat switches set at the '1' position,
but the time required will bc proportionally longer. After
preheating, set the 3-heat switches for proper ratio of '3', '2'
and '1' heat to suit the product for baking or roasting.
Regulate the temperature for roasting by the thermostat knob
(fixed in front of the body and on the side of oven door). Use a
little after the thermostat went into motion. The oven is equipped
with a shelf Tor roasting. For baking pies, place the pans directly
on the unit cover. For baking cakes or pastries the shelf should be
located at one of the two higher positions provided by the shelf
support on the sides of the oven, and the pans placed on the shelf
in this higher position.
'I'he following temperatures, time, switch setting and shelf
positions are suggested as a guide in baking various kinds of
products:

General

Lower support

Always keep oven door closed as far as possible. Excessive

door opening will cool the front section of the oven ,and products
placed near the front are likely to bake slower. .
Do not permit air Crom a window or a fan to blow into the oven
it will cause uneven heating.
Range Top
Gt-iddlc-hotplaLc is suitable I'or pot work, griddle and
general surface cooking operations. Each griddle-hotplate is
independently controlled by an indicating, rotary 3-neat switch
Iocatcd in the switch box.
On '3' heat, the griddlc-hotplate will reach the temperature
of 250°C in approximately 15 minutes. After preheating, most work
can be done on '2' or '1' heat.

Straight Quick '[eater (Utensil for broiling fish)

As Lhis utensil is heated up to more than 750'C in about five
minutes after setting the switch at '3' on just before use.
Three switches are attached to the Front of this heater.
This heater is suitable for broiling fish and flying. In
broiling fish adjust the height of this heatcr properly by adjusting
attached table according to sorts of fish. In case of other kinds
of cooking, take off the adjusting table. Leave the cover on the
heater as it is.
In broiling fish, put water or wet sand on soup receiver. B y .
putting water fish will be done nicely with gloss, prevented from
scorching, taste nice, and will not burn even dropping of oil. And
besides, heater is heated strongly, so i t repels oil and does not
burn or smoke even hy dropping of oil. Adjust the height according
to sorts of fish. In broiling bream, set the switch at '1' and
heating power will be weakened as a whole which is suitable for
broiling bream. Even in case of using for other kinds of cooking,
use it with cover (net). If big pan is put directly on the heater,
it may bend from strong burning. So put pans on the cover.
Change the switches according to kinds of cooking.

Care & Cleaning

The range should be thoroughly cleaned at least once a week.
Keep inside of oven and u n i t cover scraped clean, particularly
around door opening so Lhat door may close tightly.
keep drip pan under range top clean.
keep griddle-hotplate surfacc and spaces between plates
scraped clean.
Inspect and test electrical circuits smoothly, and make sure
that wire connections arc tight.
Electric equipment is inherently clean and sanitary, but it may
becomc unsanitsry i l ' dirt is allowed to accumulate on it. Take
advantage of the clean, s a n i tary feature of electric equipment. Givc
i t the regular attention it deserves, the same as any other highly
perfected machinery, to insure best results and continued high
operating efficiency.

Pots or Pans on Range-llotplate

Plat bottom pots or pans should be used on range hotplates. I f
the bottom of pots or pans takes a convex shape, it should be
flattened; concave bottom pots or pans may be used.

Straight Quick Heater

(1) Change the water on the soup receiver sometimes.
(2) Big pans should not be put directly on the heater.
(3) Please do not put blind board all over the heater.
As heater has a big heat capacity, heater itself and
other parts may get out of order by putting the board '

like that.

3. OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE

1. Turn on the watex

2. Switch on.

3. Put the garbage into the system.

It.ems are described in the Clause 5 NOTE, which must not be

mixed with the garbage. Be carehl not to allow such, itenis to enter
the system together with the gmbage. Operation noise lowers when the
disposal of the garbage has been f i s h e d . Let the 'system run for
another approximately 30 seconds even after the disposal, to clean the
interior of its piping.

4. Switch off.

5. Turn off the watex

4. STRUCTURAI., DESIGN AND ACTION

4-1 DISPOSING MECHANISM

The garbage enter a grinding chamber through a hopper, and are

crushed by rotary edges and stationary edges. Then, the garbage
flow out of the system dong with water through a flange.

4-1-1 Rotary Edges

Rotaly edges consist of the following two elements:

A Cutter Wheel

The garbage are pressed against the stationary edges by

g x a t cent;rdugal force produced by the cutter wheel,
and broken into large-sized pieces by the two swing
hammers mounted on the cutter wheel.

B Swing Hammers

The swing hammers crush in a moment the garbage being

pressed against the stationary edges. In this case, the
swing hammers break the garbage by its centrifugal force.
'l?llerefore, thc swing hammers are designed not to lock by
retracting as shown in Figures above, even if metals
such as spoons, crown caps, etc. enter the grinding
chamber by mistake. b
4- 1-2 Stationary Edges

The stationary edges, which are arranged along the internal

surface of the ring, crush the garbage by acting together
with the swing hammers. This stationary edge is made of
special and hardened stainless steel.

4-2 Complete Sealing Device to Prevent Liquid at Rotating Area

The rolary edges are provicied with two oil seals to prevent any
liquid, such as water, from leaking into the inside of the system's
eleclric motor Besides, the oil seals are protected by a flinger
so that the garbage do not give any bad influence on the oil seals.
Even if water leak is found because of oil seal's wear after it's
long service, the slruclural design of the system by a patent, of
practical new device (now under application) prevents such the
leaking water from entering the motor, by leading the water outside
the system along the top surface of a motor bracket which is
protected by V-ring, and also indicates the time to replace the
oil seals.

5. NOTE

5-1 n the power off before inspection.

5-2 Never touch the r o t a ~ y and stationary edges during operation.

The amount of the garbage to be put into the disposer must be

limited to the level of a splash guard.

6-3 Items not allowed to be put into the disposer

Never put any metals and items as described below into the
disposer. Otherwise, they will damage the rotary and stationary edges,
reduce the crushing capacity and finally shorten the- life of the
system. If such items are put into the disposer by mistake, switch
off immediately and remove them.

Metals, glass, porcelain, plastic, stone, r u b b e ~

lealher, abrasive, shell, vinyl, eggshell, wood, bamboo,
other fibrous items such as bamboo-shoot sheath,
green soybeans shell, maize husk, etc. ,
5-4 No oiling is required.

Lubrication is not necessary for the motor axis since it is provided

with the capped bearing. In addition, a high quality of lithium
grease is used for the motor for its long service.

5-5 It is safe even if the motor installed in the system is heated,

because an E-type insulated winding is used for the motor.
l'he E-type insulated winding has an excellent heat-resisting property
of the maximum allowable temperature 120°C. Therefore, it is
quite safe even if the motor feels heated.

6 CAUTION

In case where the motor stops during operation, as i t is because the

protective device in the motor has functioned, switch off first, then
take the following actions:

6-1 If the motor stops autoinaticaUy, get rid of the cause after checking
carefully. (For example, a nail is caught between edges and the
motor locks consequently. For further details, refer to the Clause 7
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE.)

After removing the cause of the trouble, turn the cutter wheel
leftward (anticloclcwise) using a lock handle attached. If the
cutter wheel turns smoothly, the system are ready. to operate.

6-2 Press a reset button more than five minutes after the motor
stopped.

6-3 Next, turn the power on to re-start.

(ITow to use the lock handle)

'

U
IT the cutter wheel stops because of nails
o metals being caught;, switch off first,
then turn the cutter wheel countercloclcwise
with a lock handle as shown in Figure.
If the cutter wheel turns smoothly,
it is ready fox operation.
