Dear Parents/Guardians,

This morning, we discovered that our school had been vandalized with offensive graffiti that was
spray painted on both main back door and the side of the portable. Toronto Police were
immediately contacted and are investigating.

I know that we all take great pride in our school, so this is a very upsetting and unacceptable
incident. Please know that we are following all TDSB reporting processes and are continuing to
investigate this matter internally. We are also assisting police in any way we can, including by
reviewing and sharing any relevant video surveillance footage.

TDSB staff arrived on site this afternoon to clean it up. Such acts also place a burden on our
limited school resources and will not be tolerated.

The incident did not occur during school hours, but we all take a very active interest in our
community. Much of our ability to be proactive in these situations also depends on the school
community alerting us to any potential problems. We ask that if you should ever see suspicious
activity around our building during and after hours, please contact the TDSB 24-hour Emergency
Call Centre at 416-395-4620 or the Toronto Police Service at 416-808-2222. Working together,
we can continue to ensure that our school and our community are as safe as possible.
