4. Supply and lay Ceramic Wall Tiles (multi-colour
) 8mm to 10mm with size up to 600mm width x
up to 1200 mm height complete with Company-
approved ceramic tile adhesive and grouting 55 M2
inclusive of PVC corner and edges capping. The
size, shape and design shall be as selected by
the Superintendent's Representative.
5. Supply and fix linear formed aluminum false
ceiling (Type DAMPA) or equal approved quality
with runners and all necessary fittings, framing, 25 M2
scaffolding, supports and hangers. Shall take
KNPC approval with sample prior to use.

6. Supply and fix stainless steel sink cabinet (S.S -

304) including all fitting such as double bowl
sink, mixer valve ,angle valves, water filter (3
candle type) and S.S counter top, hinge doors---
- etc. as per choices of the superintendents 1 Nos
representative. The sink cabinet shall be in line
and matching with the remaining aluminum
counter cabinets. Contractor shall prepare
drawing/catalogues and submit for approval.
7. Supply and install aluminum door hinged
complete with up to 2.5 mm thick anodized or
powder-coated aluminium frame, rubber
beading, door spring (either wall or floor-
mounted) and 6mm tinted/reflective or wired

glass, weather strip and brush, with matching
3mm thick x up to 150mm wide aluminium
threshold anodized or powder coated.
 8. Supply and install aluminum window 2mm thick
, hinged/sliding doubled paned with the external
window installed with 6 mm tempered glass and
the internal pane 6mm clear glass complete with
2 M2
anodized or powder-coated frame, rubber
beading, handles, locks etc.
9. Supply and fix high quality aluminum counter
cabinets, having door of doubled side 1.8mm
thick profiled phenolic sheet with 2 cm thick
styropore with profiled panel in the middle.
Counter cabinet including its door shall be oven
dry of approved finish, counter top shall be

made of 2 cm thick chamfered edge granite.
The cabinet shall include all required
ironmongeries i.e. concealed hinges, drawer
slides, knops and handles etc.
10. Supply and fix high quality aluminum wall
cabinets (having door of doubled side 1.8mm
thick profiled phenolic sheet with 2 cm thick
styropore with profiled panel in the middle),
with two adjustable shelves inside as per site

include all required ironmongeries i.e. concealed
hinges, drawer slides, knops and handles etc.

Note:
The quantities set out above, shall be taken as indicative quantities solely for the purpose to arrive at the
Provisional Contract Price for this Contract. The payment to the Contractor for each item of the Works shall be
based on measurement & certification of actual quantity by Contract Superintendent & applicable unit rates in
the Contract. The Provisional Contract Price, for the purposes of the Contract, shall not be deemed as a fixed
lump sum price, but only as a provisional sum. Also, the quantities indicated is of Maximum quantities and
cannot be exceeded in any circumstances, unless the same is provided in writing by Contract Superintendent
and regularized by a Variation Order.

SCOPE OF WORKS

I. INTRODUCTION:

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (K.S.C) (KNPC) – Local Marketing (LM)

Department requires the renovation works for the kitchen at ground floor of fire station
building at Sabhan Depot –LM KNPC.

II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This note is intended to provide a general guideline for the intended renovation works for
the kitchen at ground floor of fire station building at Sabhan Depot –LM KNPC, as per the
approved drawings with in a duration as specified in clause no.3 of Contract Terms &
Conditions.

III. SCOPE OF WORK & SPECIFICATIONS:

The Contractor shall perform the works in accordance with the requirements as further
described in this Contract including the provision of materials, labour, plants and all
necessary equipment, tools and consumables for performance of the Works / Services for
the renovation works for the kitchen at ground floor of Fire Station building at Sabhan
Depot –LM KNPC. The scope of work includes but not limited to remove and cart away of
existing ceramic tiles, ceiling tiles and existing fittings with all accessories, supply and lay
ceramic tiles (floor & wall), supply and fix linear formed aluminum false ceiling (Type
DAMPA) or equal approved quality, supply and installation of kitchen floor and wall
cabinets with kitchen sink including all fixtures as per specifications, replace existing
aluminium windows with new one, replace existing door with new one, and required
plumbing works with all the required fittings as per the approved drawings. The Contractor
shall execute the works in accordance with Company supplied drawings. The Contractor
shall obtain all necessary work permits prior to commencement of the Works.

Civil Scope:

The contractor scope includes but not limited to remove and cart away of existing ceramic
tiles, ceiling tiles, doors, windows and existing fittings with all accessories, supply and lay
ceramic tiles (floor & wall), supply and fix linear formed aluminum false ceiling (Type
DAMPA) or equal approved quality, supply and installation of kitchen floor and wall
cabinets with kitchen sink including all fixtures as per specifications, replace existing
aluminum windows with new one, replace existing door with new one, and required
plumbing works with all the required fittings as per the approved drawings. While carrying
out the work, protection of all facilities including cables and other items shall be the
responsibility of the contractor and contractor shall be held responsible for any damage
caused during the work. Any damage to the existing facility during the works shall be
repaired to its former self to the satisfactory level of KNPC representative. Any kind of
removal of existing items/modifications to renovate according to drawings shall be the
responsibility of the contractor.
The contractor shall schedule and carry out the work in such way that the operation of depot/
facility is not getting affected during the project tenure.

Ceramic Floor Tiles:

Supply and lay Ceramic Floor Tiles in any size & color, non-slip as applicable,
from width 600mm or above x length up to 1200mm, 8-10mm thick, complete
with Company-approved adhesive and grouting material, highly decorative (top
quality) and of various design and patterns. The size, shape and design shall be
as selected by the Superintendent's Representative.
Ceramic Wall Tiles:
Supply and lay Ceramic Wall Tiles (multi-colour ) 8mm to 10mm with size
up to 600mm width x up to 1200 mm height complete with Company-
approved ceramic tile adhesive and grouting inclusive of PVC corner and
edges capping. The size, shape and design shall be as selected by the
Superintendent's Representative.
Ceiling:
Cart away existing, supply and fix linear formed aluminum false ceiling
(Type DAMPA) or equal approved quality with runners and all necessary
fittings, framing, scaffolding, supports and hangers. Shall take KNPC
approval with sample prior to use.

Plumbing and Toilet Accessories:

The plumbing work includes all the work including removal of existing
fittings, breaking, chipping, repairing and fixing new fittings for the facility
mentioned in the contract and drawing up to the full satisfaction of KNPC
representative. All plumbing fixtures shall be installed in accordance with
manufacturer's printed instructions for conditions indicated and as required
to obtain a rigid installation. The location of each fixture and the fixing
method of ceramic fixtures shall be as shown on the drawings or as directed
by the Engineer.
Floor drains shall be double drainage pattern with integral seepage pan for
embedding in floor construction and with weep holes providing adequate
drainage from pan to drain pipe. They shall have slotted strainer of
chromium plated cast brass attached to a brass threaded collar for adjustment
to varying floor thickness. Floor drains shall be of adjustable type. Floor
drains shall be adjustable type make ZURN, Model ZN-415, with type Y
strainer (square shape) and cleanouts model Z-1400-3 or approved equal.
The body shall be dura coated cast iron and the strainer shall be of nickel
bronze. Nipples on all piping shall be extra heavy guaranteed pipe nipples
made from new pipes.
All unions on 2 ¼ inch and smaller steel pipes shall be ground joint, ring
pattern unions. The body of the union shall be galvanized malleable iron.
All unions on 2 1/2 inch and larger pipes shall be cast iron or malleable cast
iron galvanized flanged type.
Brass ferrules shall be extra cast brass, machine finished, and not less than 3
mm. in thickness.
 Pantry Cabinets:
• Supply and fix stainless steel sink cabinet (S.S -304 ) including all
fitting such as double bowl sink, water filter (3 candle type), mixer
valve ,angle valves and S.S counter top, hinge doors---- etc. as per
choices of the superintendents representative. The sink cabinet
should match in alignment and design with the remaining counter
cabinets. Design details shall be taken approval from KNPC
representative prior to fixing. The cabinet shall include all required
ironmongeries i.e. concealed hinges, drawer slides, knops and
handles etc. All items shall be of good quality made
(Italy/Spain/Germany).
• Supply and fix high quality aluminum counter cabinets, having door
of doubled side 1.8mm thick profiled phenolic sheet with 2 cm thick
styropore with profiled panel in the middle. Counter cabinet
including its door shall be oven dry of approved finish, counter top
shall be made of 2 cm thick chamfered edge granite. The cabinet
shall include all required ironmongeries i.e. concealed hinges, drawer
slides, knops and handles etc. All the ironmongeries shall be of good
quality made (Italy/Spain/Germany).
• Supply and fix high quality aluminum wall cabinets (having door of
doubled side 1.8mm thick profiled phenolic sheet with 2 cm thick
styropore with profiled panel in the middle), with two adjustable
shelves inside as per site condition and KNPC approval. The cabinet
shall include all required ironmongeries i.e. concealed hinges, drawer
slides, knops and handles etc. All the ironmongeries shall be of good
quality made (Italy/Spain/Germany).
Aluminum door:
Hinged complete with up to 2.5 mm thick anodized or powder-coated
aluminum frame, rubber beading, door spring (either wall or floor-mounted)
and 6mm tinted/reflective or wired glass, weather strip and brush, with
matching 3mm thick x up to 150mm wide aluminum threshold anodized or
powder coated. All fittings and ironmongeries shall be of good quality made
(Italy/Spain/ Germany)
Aluminum Window:
2mm thick , hinged/sliding doubled paned with the external window
installed with 6 mm tempered glass and the internal pane 6mm clear glass
complete with anodized or powder-coated frame, rubber beading, handles,
locks. All fittings and ironmongeries shall be of good quality made
(Italy/Spain/ Germany)

Note:
Any damaged area shall be repaired and made well as per the requirement of
this contract / existing conditions.

IV. GENERAL:

A combined site visit to the site before starting the work is advised. The Contractor
shall submit relevant catalogues, specifications, test certificates and samples of
materials to the Superintendent’s Representative for approval prior to incorporating
such materials into the Works.
 The Contractor shall submit a detailed program of work and shall report to the
Superintendent’s Representative daily by 14th hour and required to submit daily
progress report and next day planning. The contractor shall submit checklist for
each step to work for approval.
The Contractor shall ensure that the Works is carried out only after a work permit
and/or other permits are obtained from the Company as per the Company’s
applicable HSEMS procedures, including the Permit to Work Procedure.
During this period, the KNPC facility will be under operation and the Contractor
shall carry out the work without any disturbance & obstruction for the smooth
functioning of the facility.
The contractor shall provide adequate transportation for his personnel and necessary
movement of equipment for the proper execution of work. Any conveyance related
to the work will be the responsibility of the contractor.
The Contractor shall keep good housekeeping standards and protect the area with
proper barricading. During the modification work, the Contractor shall be
responsible for keeping the site clean and accordingly remove the waste materials
from site time to time.
Upon completion and on handing over the site, the Contractor shall ensure that the
entire site is fully clean.
