Confirmation is an important milestone along the journey in one’s
Catholic faith life. When we are confirmed, we gain a new identity as a full member of the Church. We can make the decision to celebrate this sacrament, and then can carry out that decision while we learn, live and love our faith. This preparation is not a way of “earning” the sacrament; rather, the sacrament is God’s gift to us. Our preparation is the way we show gratitude for God’s goodness; by striving to appreciate as best we can the gift we are given. I felt enlightened and happy that my faith in the Lord is increasing day by day. The closer I get to this milestone feel excited, because only after few months this milestone will be complete and be even more closer to God. But at the same time I felt nervous because in every journey there are obstacles. Some of these obstacles may be very exhausting and I will feel the need to quit or give up, but then I will try to remember the happy memories when the Lord was near even the ones in which I had success or failures and look at my family who is by my side and will help me no matter what throughout this journey and then get back on track to be closer with the Lord.
