Calibration

Before shipping, the FCC is electronically calibrated. Unfortunately, it might happen that upon
assembling the FCC in your cougar base, you realize that the forces required are not the same in all
directions.
Don't worry, this is normal and created by the physical differences of the Cougar metal bases. In some
bases, the captor is undergoing some minor force at neutral position. That has the consequence to
slightly displace the centre position of one or even the two stick axes – having then a greater range on
one side and a smaller range on the other side – hence the difference in force required.

To be save now is the time to do an electronic calibration, so you are absolutely sure your axes are
aligned properly. To do the electronic alibration place the Cougar upside down.

Two yellow trim-potentiometers.

On the FCC pcb you see two yellow trimpotentiometers each with a small metal screw. The screws
are used for alignment.

.
First connect the FCC, using the USB cable, to your PC. Next open CCP

Choose Startup & Calibration.

Click on Manual Calibration and go to: 2. Move the Y-axis FORWARD.
Now adjust the RAW value, using the Y-potentiometer by turning it with a small screwdriver
Until it reads around 320.

Go to step 4 by using the next button and repeat the same for the X-Axis RAW value.

Now your CCP is electronically calibrated.

Electronic calibration has nothing to do with IN-flight manual or auto calibration.
