To Preserve Is To Live The Culture

Filipino culture is unique among the others due to how ancestors have lived throughout
the years. Our culture is continuously passed on from generation to future generation.
According to Heraclitus “ the only constant thing is change”, our culture has undergone many
changes due to many factors such as influence from other countries' cultures. Despite that, we
can still preserve our own culture by living it.

We must continue to practice the culture that our ancestors have taught us, and it is our
responsibility to pass it down to the next generation. This is a very important responsibility that
we must carry on our shoulders as Filipino citizens. Another way of preserving our culture is to
share it with others. It may be through online posts, or by telling our friends from other countries
about the uniqueness and diversity of the culture that we have. They may like it, and they may
not. But the important thing is, we did our part in imparting our knowledge and experiences in
our culture to others.

In other words, we must live and practice the culture that we have to keep it alive. Being
influenced by others’ cultures is not a bad thing, it is a way of learning and being aware of their
culture and we may use something we can find useful from it. What’s important is that we must
pass on our practices to the next generation and patronize our own culture before others’.
