a. The cuff should at least cover 80% of the patient’s upper arm. Also each cuff has
predetermined markings on the internal side. Ask if it feels fine and place two fingers between
the cuff and arm to make sure it is not to tight…This is important because if the cuff is not the
correct size you will not get an accurate blood pressure reading.
