Do not place the device in a damp place ELECTRICITY SAFETY ~ Carefully check whether there are potential dangers such as ungrounded power supply, unreliable power supply grounding, and wet floor in the work area - Before installation, find out the location of the emergency power switch in the room where the equipment is located, When an accident occurs, cut off the emergency power switch first ~ Be sure to unplug all external cables (including the power cord) before moving the device. ~ When conducting live maintenance, itis recommended that two or more people be present on the site. - When turning off the power, confirm that the neutral and live wires of the equipment have been disconnected. ELECTROSTATIC SAFETY ~ To avoid electrostatic damage to the electronic components of the device, it is necessary to take anti-static measures. ~ If you need to install or replace various parts of the device, especially when there are parts with circuit boards, you must wear an anti-static wrist. - When holding the circuit board, please take the edge of the circuit board, and it is forbidden to touch the components and printed circuits. LASER SAFETY - For optical transceivers and passive devices with optical interfaces, avoid looking straight at the laser beams emitted inside them to avoid damage to your eyes and skin 1 INSTALLATION PREPARATION ENVIRONMENTAL INSPECTION TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY The ambient humidity of the equipment room should be controlled at 5 to 95% (non-condensing), IF the relative humidity is too high, it is easy to cause poor insulation effect of insulating materials or even leakage, and it will also cause corrosion of metal parts If the relative humidity is too low, it is easy to generate static electricity. The ambient temperature of the equipment room should be controlled at 0 to 40°C. If the ambient temperature is too high, the aging process of components and insulating materials will be accelerated If the ambient temperature is too low, it may cause unstable system operation CLEANLINESS AND VENTILATION ~ Dust falling on the chassis body will cause electrostatic adsorption, which will not only affect the life of the equipment, but also easily cause communication failures. Therefore, the environment where the device is placed should be kept clean to a certain extent. Itis forbidden to place the equipment in a dusty environment. ~ Ensure that there is at least 40 mm space at the air inlet and air outlet of the device, and maintain good ventilation to facilitate the heat dissipation of the chassis. POWER SUPPLY CONDITIONS - Check whether the power supply in the computer room meets the equipment requirements, whether the voltage is consistent and whether power supply system is stable, - When using the power outlet to provide the nearest AC power supply for the equipment, make sure to use the power outlet with the grounding protection connector, and ensure that the grounding protection point of the power supply is reliably connected in the building, ~ Make sure that the computer room, cabinet or workbench has good and reliable grounding conditions. ELECTROMAGNETIC CONDITIONS ~ Keep away from high-power radios, radar transmitters and high-frequency high-current equipment. ~ The equipment application environment needs to have first-level lightning protection measures. - The power supply system should be used independently as much as possible and take effective measures to prevent grid interference. - Ensure that the grounding effect of the power supply of the equipment is good, or add a lightning protection device. J CHASSIS INSTALLATION STEP 1. ~ Before touching the chassis or transceivers, wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves to protect chassis againts antistatic discharge. - Check the grounding and stability of the cabinet, and confirm that there are no obstacles in and around the cabinet that may affect the installation of the equipment. ~ Confirm that the cabinet has good ventilation and heat dissipation STEP 2. ~ Fasten mounting brackets on the both sides of chassis with 10 x M4 screws, STEP 3. = Choose position for your chassis in the cabinet and install a tray or a guide rail to hold the device. J CHASSIS INSTALLATION STEP 3. ~ If auxiliary equipment such as trays or guide rails can not be found in the equipment room, you can use cabinet backside mounting brackets from equipment set. ‘STEP 4. - Determine the position where the nuts should be installed on the square hole strip of the cabinet column. Install the nuts to the corresponding position. ~ Slowly push the device into the cabinet along the tray or guide rail from the front of the cabinet, align the mounting holes of the mounting brackets with the previously installed nuts, and then use the matching screws to lock the two. J CHASSIS INSTALLATION STEP 5. = Unscrew the grounding screw on the front of the device, pass it through the hole of the pressed grounding wire and screw it back into the original grounding hole and tighten. Connect the other end of the grounding wire to the ground point on the cabinet in the same way. ‘STEP 6. - Remove metal cap from the chassis front and push the OTN card into the chassis slot until the card is fully connected to the backplane. Insert the card slowly, without excessive force. J CHASSIS INSTALLATION STEP 7. ~ Remove metal cap from the NMU card slot (chassis rear panel), then push the NMU card into the slot until the card is fully connected to the backplane. Insert the card slowly, withaut excessive force. ~ When using two NMU cards, they work in master/slave mode. Slave card becomes active only after master card failure. For manual mode switchover, hold down RST button for 3 seconds. = Two RJ45 Ethernet ports on front panel of the chassis provide access to network management functions (WEB/SNMP/TELNET) only with at least one NMU card installed, ‘STEP 8. ~ Plug AC/DC power jack into appropriate power supply socket on the chassis rear panel. Plug other end of the cable to external AC/DC power supply system. ~ Before connecting the power cable, make sure that the power supply system is in the off state dT CHASSIS INSTALLATION STEP 9. ~ Insert CFP2 DCO transceiver into the line port L1 or L2 of the OTN card on the chassis front panel. ~ Insert two QSFP28 transceivers (SR/OR/FR/LR) or cables (ACC/PCC/AQC) into appropriate client ports (client ports C1, C2 belong to tine port L1; ports C3, C4 belong to Line port L2) - QSFP28 ports are reversed; make sure you plug in QSFP28 transceivers/cables upside down. STEP 10. ~ Connect one end of duplex LC fiber patch cord to CFP2 transceiver. Connect the other end to optical multiplexor/demulttiplexor or EDFA amplifier. - Connect one end of duplex LC/MPO fiber patch cord to GSFP28 transceivers. Connect the other end to the switch with QSFP28 ports. J CHASSIS INSTALLATION STEP I. Insert SFP transceiver into SFP1 or SFP2 port of the NMU card on the chassis rear panel. ~ Connect one end of fiber patch cord to SFP transceiver. Connect the other end to the switch with SFP ports or directly to your PC network card with SFP ports ~ Now you have access to chassis network management functions: WEB/SNMP/TELNET. ~ Default IP address: 192.168.1.228, Account: root. Password: root @9102. STEP 12. ~ You can also access network management functions through RJ45 Ethernet ports on the chassis front panel. Connect one end of RJA5 cable to any RJ45 port on the front panel. Connect the other end to the switch with RJ45 ports or directly to your PC network card. ~ Use USB cable from accessories set to get access to chassis CL! (Command Line Interface). Connect USB Type-C to CON port of NMU card. Connect the other end to your PC USB port. ~ Serial port settings: Bits per second: 115200, Data bits: 8, Parity: None, Stop bits: 1, Flow control: None. ‘ OEO REGENERATION Previous site Next site Z : z a @ Fi oO ( 2 ao To regenerate optical signal on intermediate site without wavelengths adding or dropping, it is enough just co connect C1 - C3 and C2 - Cé client ports respectively (no switch with QSFP28 ports required).
