A Metallurgical Solution to Reduce Operational Cost

and Mitigate Unplanned Stoppages, Replacements

Caused by Material Failures
The advanced stainless steel grades, so called AP grades,
benefit operators because of its excellent resistances
against corrosions, cracking issues that occur in high
temperature operations, such;
• Polythionic Acid Stress Corrosion Cracking (PTA-SCC)
• Stress Relaxation Cracking (SRC)
• Naphthenic Acid Corrosion (NAC)
347H with PTASCC
By using AP grades, operators can remove these processes
which are the typical counters measures to protect
conventional stainless steels from PTA-SCC
✓ Neutralization steps (Alkaline washing)
✓ Stabilization heat treatment for base material and after
welding
Operators can also minimize opportunity loss by shortening
its maintenance period through this benefit, and/or lessen
replacement frequency

347AP has been used in Japan since 1980s.

AP grades are used in 15 projects in North
American, successfully accumulating its
references to other regions too.
