1. What are your suggestions to enhance community preparedness?

Enhancing community preparedness also means extending the telecommunication

range mainly, the local tribes, and communities in rural areas, who do not have the
luxury to provide advanced gadgets. If the National Telecommunication
Commission (NTC) would implement integral technological developments in the
said range of areas, communication would be easier. Also, affixing evacuation maps
per house and buildings, would raise awareness on all major and alternate
evacuation routes. Lastly, enough resources and equipment must be gathered in
utilization for the people when disaster strikes. Thus, the budget allotted for this
matter must be employed completely.

2. What does the National Disaster Management Program Contain?

The totality of this management program exhibits how we handle national disasters.
But the focal point for this initiative is “reduction”. Veraciously, we cannot fully
annihilate risks and calamities as they are naturally inevitable. However, we can
only reduce it to the barest of our limitations. Even so, if properly executed, this
program can cease deaths and destructions. This plan also provides us with an
integral syllabus on what should the people do when calamities strike. Also, drills
are being performed in both private and public every month to train students and
workers when disaster strikes. These drills are only limited to both fire and
earthquake-related hazards because typhoons can be predicted which suspensions
of daily schedules are implemented. To conclude, this scheme should be part of
everyone’s discipline.
