WILLIAM OSWALDO SOSA CORREA
FECHA: Jueves 29 de Septiembre de 2022
1. Figure 1 shows the arrangement of nuclear charges (positive charges) of a KBr molecule. Find the
electric field that these charges produce at the center of mass at a distance of 9.3 × 10−11 m from the
Br atom.

Figure 1: The positive (nuclear) charges in a KBr molecule.

2. Two large sheets of paper intersect at right angles. Each sheet carries a uniform charge distribution
of positive charge (Fig. 2). The charge per unit area on the sheets is 3.0 × 10−6 C/m2 . Find the
magnitude of the electric field in each of the four quadrants. Sketch the field lines in each quadrant.

Figure 2: Two intersecting charged sheets of paper.

3. A very long, thin rod carries +Q coulombs of charge uniformly distributed in each meter of its length,
and a point charge −Q is located one meter from the rod. Sketch the field lines of the electric field
produced jointly by these charges in the plane containing the rod and the point charge.
4. You wish to generate a uniform electric field of 2.0 × 105 N/C in the space between two flat, parallel
plates of metal placed face to face. The plates measure 0.30 cm × 0.30 cm. How much electric charge
must you put on each plate? Assume that the gap between the plates is small so that the charge
distribution and the electric field are approximately uniform, as for infinite plates.
5. Considere una barra uniformemente cargada con densidad de carga λ, y semi-infinita, como se muestra
en la figura 3. Muestre que el campo eléctrico en el punto P hace un ángulo de 45 grados con la barra
y que el resultado no depende de la distancia R.
