ANALYSIS OF ACTIVITIES PERSONNEL MONITORING

OF CONDITIONS
MSc. Eng. Gutiérrez G. - MSc. Eng. Vásquez F. Chilean Mining Industry 2019 – 2021

Abstract:
Evaluate the efficiency and occupancy of the personnel in the condition monitoring area, in
plants of the North District, Codelco, to identify opportunities for improvement both in the
optimization of the work team and in master plans.
The records of activities carried out in the office and field are processed by Moncon
personnel, on average made up of 3 vibration inspectors, 2 structural inspectors and 2
electrical inspectors, in the period 2019 to 2021, to build heat maps and identify the periods
of greatest efficiency. and staff occupation. The data is obtained from the records in SAP and
in inspector analysis platforms.
According to the results, there is an average efficiency of 11% in field work and 14% in office
work. Staff occupancy is divided 45% in the field and 55% in the office. There are great
opportunities for improvement both in master plans and in the administration of activities,
however, there are periods where staff occupation is lower, and it is related to periods where
transfer activities, talks, unplanned meetings, etc. are carried out.
Maintaining the same workload, it is feasible to reduce the number of contract workers and
even achieve better efficiency results, optimizing inspection routes given in master plans and
automating office-related activities, such as documentation, technical reports, presentations,
graph generation, etc.
