ABSTRACT

Parents play a significant part in the progress of their children. In this modular learning, parents
parenting styles were measured to the success of their learner. This study was conducted to
determine the influence of parenting styles and academic motivation of grade six students in
Modular distance learning. Correlational method was employed in the study with the use of
adapted questionnaire from Shyny(2017) to determine the parenting styles of parent and
Alivernini & Lucidi (2008) to determine the academic motivation of students. The respondents
were determined by the use of stratified random sampling. This study was realized on August
2021. Respondents of the study were the grade six students and parents of Villa Doneza Central
Elementary School. It was found out that the level of parenting styles of parent is moderate.
Thus, it was also found out that the level of academic motivation of student is high. The findings
of this study revealed that parenting styles insignificantly influence the academic motivation of
students in Modular distance learning.
