Symposium 4, Farewell Party and Awarding Night the 11th iyo 2024 The Indonesian International Medical Olympiad (IMO) 2021 is a medical science competition event which is an annual work program under the Medical Education and Profession Division of Indonesian Medical Student Executive Boards’ Association (ISMKI). IMO itself has the aim of increasing the competence of medical students through a scientific competition that brings together all medical students in Indonesia. As for the Medical Olympiad, there are 6 branches of science that will be contested, they are Cardiorespiratory, Genitourinary, Musculoskeletal, Digestive, Neuropsychiatry, and Infectious Diseases. IMO 2021's Research Competition is a breakthrough in IMO history that aims to encourage medical students in the world to conduct original research and share their findings in a competition forum. Apart from the competition, there are also other non-competitive activities such as the Welcoming Party, Symposium, Farewell Party which aim to increase knowledge and build relationships between medical students throughout Indonesia. A spectacular event that has always been a pride for its participants in struggling to noble their alma mater. We truly appreciate the organizing committee from the Medical Faculty of Sriwijaya University for their effort in hosting the biggest medical Olympiad in Indonesia. This competition was held to accommodate our members 89 medical faculties in Indonesia to prove the implementation of the curriculum system in their institutions. Medical students have a lot of potential to become whatever they want in the scope of their knowledge. Like other intellectual societies, medical students also have hard skills and soft skills that need to be enhanced. Students cannot solely rely on their ability to memorize material if they want to achieve their grandest potentials. Students must develop all the abilities they have and have a keen willingness to improve themselves. To accommodate and accelerate the potential of medical students and coordinate all medical faculties in Indonesia, in 1981 the lkatan Senat Mahasiswa Kedokteran Indonesia (ISMKI) or Indonesian Medical Student Executive Boards’ Association was established. ISMKI is an inter-university organization that acts as a unifying forum and developing the potential for medical students throughout Indonesia. ISMKI has several departments, one of which is the Department of Medical Education and Profession, which collaborates with 89 institutions in Indonesia. The Department of Medical Education and Profession of ISMKI accommodates the various potentials possessed by all medical education students, by holding an annual competition in the form of an Olympiad which has been held since 2009 under the name Indonesian Medical Olympiad (IMO) which later in 2015 changed its name to the Indonesian International Medical Olympiad (IMO). This year, the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University was given the honor to host IMO 2021 which is the 11th IMO since 2010. Sriwijaya University is a University in South Sumatra, founded on April 1, 1953 (as Yayasan Perguruan Tinggi Syakhyakirti) and officially became Sriwijaya University on October 29, 1960. The Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University (FK Unsri) is the fifth faculty established at Sriwijaya University. Currently, there are three campuses used for the FK Unsri education process: the Madang campus, the Bukit campus, and the Indralaya campus. with the main teaching hospital of the RSUP. Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang (RSMH). The Faculty of Medicine of UNSRI is one of the high-quality medical education institutions and is comparable to medical education institutions at the national and ASEAN levels. For this reason, we hope that the 2021 Indonesian International Medical Olympiad (IMO) can give beneficence to all participating medical students and introduce the Faculty of Medicine UNSRI from national to international scope.
