Correct Application form

There are two forms:

Schengen visa application form, for those applying for a short-term stay in


Greece for non-employment purposes. After you complete this form, print it and
sign it at the end.
National visa application form, for those applying for a long-stay Greek Visa.
Once you complete the form, print it twice, and sign both copies at the end.
Make sure you answer each question correctly. The information you give in this form
must comply with the information that the other documents contain.

Valid Passport

Your passport must meet the following conditions:

 Must be issued within the last 10 years.


 Must have at least three months of validity left, beyond the date you plan to leave
Greece.
 Must have at least one blank page, for the visa sticker.
In addition, your passport must not be damaged. Passports with extended validity
are not accepted, even if they have been issued in the last 10 years. Passports with
no blank pages will not be accepted either.

Two Recent Photos


The photo must have been taken within the last 6 months according to the Schengen
Visa photos requirements and specifications.

Health Insurance

Deepening on the type of visa you are applying for, you will need to submit:

 Travel Health Insurance. If you are traveling to Greece for a short-term stay,
then you need to purchase this type of insurance. It must cover the whole
territory of Schengen with minimal coverage of €30,000 for any health
complication while in Greece.
 Medical Insurance. If you are traveling to Greece for a long-stay then this is
the insurance you need. You should purchase it from an authorized provider.
Proof of Accommodation

This document is required because the Greek authorities want to know where you
will be staying while you are in Greece. As evidence of accommodation in Greece,
you may submit one of the following:

 Hotel booking. The document must contain the entry and exit dates, your
name and surname, and information on the hotel, as the name, and contact
details.
 Invitation letter from a friend or family member living in Greece . The letter
should be approved by the relevant Greek authorities where your friend or
relative lives. It must include the following information and attachments:
 Host’s name and surname.
 Address of the place/house/apartment.
 A copy of their ID.
 A copy of their residence card, if applicable.
 Rental agreement. If you will be renting while in Greece, you should present an
agreement which:
 Must be signed by both, you and the owner.
 Should indicate the address of the place, and the area you have rented.
 Should include details about the owner, their name and surname, ID number
and contact details.
Evidence of sufficient financial means

To be eligible to travel to Greece, you need to have enough money to support


yourself. The Greek authorities want you to have a minimum of €50 per each day
you spend here.  To prove you meet this requirement, you must submit at least one

 Bank account statement for the last three months.


 Cheques.
 Salary slips.
 Proof of property ownership (cars, apartments or other real estates).
 Registered proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation.
Travel Itinerary
Another proof you need to submit is a document that shows you have booked a
roundtrip ticket from your home country to Greece and back or onward travel if you
are planning to leave to another country after your stay in Greece.

The document must contain your name, the arrival and departure date, and the flight
number.

Medical Certificate

You also need to submit a certificate issued by an authorized doctor regarding your
health situation. The certificate should state that you are free of any diseases and
disabilities, which might endanger public health or threaten public policy and
security, including:

 Tuberculosis
 Syphilis
 Other infectious diseases or contagious parasitic diseases
 Drug addiction
 Profound mental disturbance; manifest conditions of psychotic disturbance with
agitation, delirium, hallucinations or confusion.
Documents Regarding Employment Status

According to your employment status, you will need to submit a few additional
documents, which are:

 If you are employed: Employment contract stating your salary and a no-
objection letter issued by your employer.
 If you are self-employed: Commercial registry and Up-dated tax card.
 If you are retired: Pension statements.
 If you are a student: Proof of school/university enrollment, and no-objection
letter.
Additional Required Documents for Minors

For minors traveling to Greece, whether with parents or a legal guardian, these
documents must be presented at the Greek consulate:

 Birth Certificate.
 Marriage Certificate of parents.
 Consent of the parental authority or legal guardian, in case the minor travels
alone or only with one parent.

Tourism Visa for Greece:

 Proof of accommodation in all member states you plan on visiting, including


Greece, if applicable.
Private Visit Visa for Greece:

 Invitation letter validated by the competent authorities of Greece. The letter


must specify the details of the host, the address of the accommodation place,
and their status in Greece (citizen/foreign resident).
 Proof of the relationship between the host and the guest.
Business visa for Greece:

 Invitation by the host company, legal person or branch in Greece. The


letter must specify the details regarding your purpose of visit, and who covers
the expenses of the trip.
Medical Short-stay Visa for Greece:

 Documents confirming your health situation issued by a doctor in your


home country. The letter should also specify why you can’t get health treatment
in your country,
 A letter from a doctor, hospital or clinic in Greece, that confirms they can
offer you the required treatment.
 Proof that you have the means to pay (or have already paid) the costs of the
medical treatment you will receive in Greece.
Greek Visa for participating at scientific, academic, cultural or artistic
activities:

 A written request from the host organization, for participation in the activity in
Greece.
 Other documents related to the activity you want to participate in.
Short-stay Study Visa for Greece:

 A certificate of enrollment issued by the university, college or school in Greece.
