A contest of speed in running, riding, driving, sailing or rowing is called a race. The path on which the contests
are held is called a racecourse or track. The point from which the race begins is called the starting point and the
point where the race ends is called the winning post or the goal. The person who first reaches the winning post is
called the winner. If all the contestants reach the goal at the same time then the race is called a dead heat.
