2.1 Background of the Company

Coway (M) Sdn Bhd was established in 1989 in South Korea. Coway is a giant
company engaged in the development and research of human well-being and
health. Introduced in Malaysia in 2006 as one of their overseas branches apart
from China, Japan, Thailand and the United States. After that, Coway Company
become number 1 in market share in both Malaysian and Korean consumers and
experts rated Coway as the leader in the water and air industry. They have their
own tagline which is “We Bring Wellness” but in 2013, Coway changed the
tagline to “We Believe in Goodness” in line with the products marketed. Next,
Coway Malaysia is one of the overseas branches with the highest monthly sales
compared to other external branches [ CITATION Cow \l 17417 ].

Coway (M) Malaysia is a brand that cares about health and the environment
with their 100% eco friendly home use products for all. In Korea, Coway has 5
Million customers that was very satisfied with this products and services
meanwhile in Malaysia 200,000 people love to use this product. Coway have
established the company as a national life health solution company through
‘IoCare’ which is a life care that was connected to the IoT (internet things) to their
products and services. The products and services that provided by Coway is Water
Filtration, Air Purifier, Bidet system and Water Softener. All these products and
services have been climbing healthily year their sales revenue over the year
[ CITATION Cow1 \l 17417 ].

They also grow to focus on creating a better world. Other than that, Coway
also has its own Research and Development Center and it is officially recognized
as a “Drinking Water Quality Inspection Agency”. Coway Laboratory equipped
with “state-of-the-art” facilities with more than 250 renowned researchers and
scientists. That’s why they become the world’s largest manufacture of water
filtration systems and awarded with water quality association (WQA) gold seal
mark. Coway (M) Sdn Bhd is located at Kuala Lumpur and they have branches at
all states in Malaysia.
