The work and mandates of the various PPPs must be aligned and streamlined in order to ensure efficient

approximately 1.9 million seafarers working to make our lives easier.The global supply of seafarers,
according to the BIMCO/ICS Seafarer Workforce Report 2021, is estimated to be 1,892,720, up from
1,647,494 in 2015.857,540 of these were officers, while 1,035,180 were ratings, skilled seafarers who
perform support tasks.The Philippines, the Russian Federation, Indonesia, China, and India were the five
nations that supplied the most seafarers, accounting for 44% of the global workforce (table 2).Table 2:

source of income for the countries that provide the goods.For instance, overseas workers in the
Philippines contributed $30.1 billion to the country's GDP and 7.3% of its GNI in 2019, with seafarers
contributing $6.5 billion.Seafarers' remittances decreased by 2.8% to $6.4 billion in 2020, while overall
remittances decreased by 0.8% to $29.9 billion.
