Training Summary/Abstract:

Engineering training is one of the main courses in civil engineering.


Every student who has registered for at least 5 CE coded courses within the first 4
semesters can apply for Summer Training I. and those students who registered for
at least 5 courses with CE3xx and CE4xx course codes can apply for Summer
Training 2.
The purpose of this courses is to apply the theoretical knowledge into practical
work.
There was two main parts in our training the first part was office work and the
second part was practical.
The training started at 17/7/2022 and last till 11/8/2022 for Summer Training I
and from 14/8/2022 to 08/09/2022 for Summer Training II.

 He is an Expert and Engineer who holds Master Degree in Environmental
Technology with experience in Marketing and Business Development,
Planning, Development and Solid Waste Management Projects in Local and
International Markets for Consultancy Engineering Services, Strategic
Planning, Project Management, Environmental Studies and in Industrial
plants as production manager and as QC & QA specialist.
 He has international experience were gained in 30 countries spread over
MENA Region, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Scope of Work:

Our scope of work covers a wide range of services and studies that includes, but
not limited to, the following:
 Technical Assistance related to Business Development, Administrative and
Financial Management activities around the world.
 Specialized Engineering Studies and Engineering Designs.
 Engineering projects’ management and construction supervision.
 Environmental, Social and Technical Feasibility Studies including Strategic
Environmental Assessments (SEA) and Environmental Impact Assessments
(EIAs).

Chapter 1:
1-1) Office Training.

The work done during training period.


1- Reviewing the work plan that the company is working on with cooperation
with GIZ.
2- Participating in the evaluation of the CVs available to be proposed for the
onsite supervision of construction activities. Also participating in the
preparation of the CVs evaluation reports to be submitted to the project
manager for review and approval.
3- Reviewing a new project for the company as they were planning to send a
clarification request to the client by the end of training week.
4- Participating in a zoom meeting with the partners to discuss the RFP for the
project.

Chapter 2:
2-1) Site Training.

The following will describe the work done in site training in detail during training
period.

1- Introduced to the supervisor.


2- Introduced to the team onsite.
3- Reviewing the drawings and the documents about the project.
4- Attending a meeting by the supervisor with contractor’s engineer.
5- Having a tour onsite and checking the construction activities.
6- Attending with site engineer the checking on the starter bars for columns
that were installed by the contractor.
7- Attending the concreting of the column rebar.
8- Supervising the concrete pouring for the beams.
9- The contractor started premier block construction.
10- Supervising on concreting some areas at the project site.
11- Attending excavation work to prepare water reservoirs onsite which will
be utilized to collect rain water.
12- Attending the progress meeting with the supervisor.
13- Checking the received materials to the site.
14- Attending the cleaning and waste collection onsite that were removed via
trucks.
15- Attending with the supervisor the checking of the implementation
procedure onsite by the contractor and the consultant’s labor.

16- Attending the pouring of concrete on surrounding spaces to prepare for
the next construction stage.
17- Checking and reviewing of the beams and some other structures that
were ready by the contractor.

Chapter 3: Impact of Engineering and learned skills in
Training.

In site training you can learn how to determine quantities of materials, and you
can learn the important rules in engineer life that does it with less cost and higher
safety.
Civil engineers needs to do a practical training on the field and a place that they
can test the theorems that were taken in the university, and training gives the
opportunity to do that, which it will help significantly in real life to be a better
engineer.
In that period I experienced engineering work as part of contribution and learned
how to perform as a part of a team.

Chapter 4: Conclusion:

1- The training is an important course because it closes the gap between the
scientific study and practical study.
2- Knowing that the team work is the most important element in every
successful project.
3- Knowing how to deal with the others.
4- Learning how to control and manage the site and how to behave when
there is a problem by taking a wise decisions.
5- Successful engineer will find the best way to make an economical project so
that the project will be implemented in less time.
