LOSARIA, CESO VI Spent SUBJECT: 2021 DIVISION ENGLISH VIRTUAL FAIR DATE: October 15, 2021 L 3. une atch anan, In line with the celebration of the National Reading Month and in continuous response to Every Child ~ A - Reader Program (CARP), the Schools Division Office of Caloocan shall launch the On-line conduct of the 2021 Division English Fair for both Elementary and Secondary Levels on November 3-29, 2021 via Google Meet . ‘This year’s theme is “Reading: The Key to a Brighter Future”. The activity aims to showcase the talents and skills of the learners in using the English Language in all aspects. This shall be conducted through varied reading activities in schools, and subsequently through next-level friendly competitions dubbed this year as “English Virtual Contest”. ‘The said virtual competition will exhibit talents in Declamation (for the Primary Level), Character Impersonation (for the Intermediate Level), and English in-Motion (for the Secondary level). Moreover, teachers from both elementary and secondary levels will be given opportunities to participate in the Interpretative Reading Contest. The full details of these contests are listed in the herewith attachment for the contest mechanics. A Certificate of Recognition shall be awarded to the winning contestants and coaches/trainers of the different categories. Likewise, a Certificate of Participation shall be given to the participants. Attached are the lists of Technical Working Group(TWG), Committee Members, and Contest Rules and Mechanics. Teacher Streamers, HT, MT | December 26 - 30, 2021 Finalization/Evaluation of VideoLlessons Division English Creative Team ENCLOSURE B: CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS DECLAMATION The contest is intended for Primary level learners. ‘The declamation piece shall be provided by the TWG. The contestants are given a maximum of five to six minutes to deliver their piece. Presentation of all contestants can be online live or in a recorded manner. . Each district shall have one representative for the Division level. Criteria: Mastery -25% ‘Tone Variation -25% Dynamics in Delivery -25% Confidence -10% Character Portrayal -15% CHARACTER IMPERSONATION The contest is intended for Intermediate level learners. 2. Bach contestant may choose an easy-to-identify character (from a famous movie, animation, TV programs and series, bible) 3. The contestant will deliver the famous and most popular lines of the character being portrayed within the 5-minute limit. 4. Costume and props modification are encouraged to add color to the character being portrayed. (recyclable materials etc.) Criteria: Character Portrayal - 30% Interpretation = 20% Clarity of Delivery = 20% Mastery - 30% ENGLISH in-MOTION (E-MOTION) L. The group shall be composed of five students from Junior High School level ‘The E-Motion must feature a video presentation of the team on their interpretation of their chosen Broadway Musical theme song .(sing & dance) 3. The video plays within the 5-minute time limit, and must be in one of the following formats: mp4. mpeg. mov, avi. 4. No face to face activity shall be done during the shoot of the E-Motion. Criteria: Creativity = 25% Interpretation - 30% Editing -15% Voice Quality = 30% ONLINE DEBATE (for SHS Learners) Each debating team is composed of three speakers and shall select a team captain. 2. Team captain will represent the team in draw lots where matches will be determined including the first team who will deliver the first constructive speech, 3. The contestant will be allowed 40 minutes for the mastery of the contest piece. They will be given only five minutes to perform during the contest proper. 4. Knock out system will be used. ‘The undefeated team from both groups will be determine also through draw lots. 6. No modifications in the content or any lines will be allowed. Criteria; Validity and Preponderance of Arguments -35% Ability to Interpolate, be interpolated & Rebut = 25% Performance (Attire, Diction, Emphasis & Courtesy - 25% Teamwork - 15% Total = 100% INTERPRETATIVE READING (for TEACHERS) 1. The contest piece will be given before the start of the contest. 2. The contestants will be allowed 40 minutes for the mastery of the contest piece. They will be given only five minutes to perform during the contest proper. 3. No special costumes are to be used. Other digital enhancements such as sound and visual effects are not allowed. 4, The contestants will deliver the piece by merely using variations in voice so as to portray the character and their emotions, No modifications in the content or any lines will be allowed.
