April Scholars Assembly talks about ‘Appreciating my family’

“Family is a gift” was one of the takeaways that the scholars have learned from last month’s Values
Formation Program.

Nica Villafuerte, Formation Development Specialist of Couples for Christ, lead the discussion on the topic
“Appreciating my Family” last April 27, 2022, thru a virtual session.

Attended by scholars from different areas in the Philippines, the monthly assembly has also served as a
venue to answer tough questions from the attendees.

Jeremy Quimpang and Alvin Genese from the CFC Youth for Christ were present to facilitate and answer
the questions.

One of the questions posed was: “What can I do to openly express my thoughts to my family because
minsan [sometimes] I tend to be misunderstood?”

This was answered by Quimpang by echoing the teachings of the community:

“It is a part of our covenant to love, honor, and serve our family… whatever it takes. Even our parents
have their own [pinagdaanan sa past]. Every people have different languages of love. Always decide to
love. ‘Wag tayo mag give up.”

The assembly ended thru a closing led by Dustin Blaize Macababbad, ANCOP scholar from Tuguegarao.
