SUBJECT : CALIBRATION METHOD FOR 15 PPM BILGE ALARM MONITOR

1. Outline
PSC inspector pointed out the abnormal condition which indicator of 15 ppm
monitor was fluctuated hunted and instant alarm was disappeared at alarm point.
Therefore, it is pleased to be noticed calibration method as follows.

2. Calibration method (TYPE:MTE-100)

1) Function
Set up Location Description
RV101 Pre. Amp. Board It is not possible to adjust “ZERO SETTING”by RV202
RV102 Pre. Amp. Board It is not possible to adjust “ZERO SETTING”by RV202
RV202 Main board For zero setting
RV204 Main board When it is occurred “Display hunting”
RV205 Main board For adjusting “15ppm alarm setting”
RV206 Main board For harmonizing 15ppm operation with instant lamp
RV207 Main board For adjusting alarm delay time

2) Maintenance for 15ppm bilge alarm monitor

① Carry out 15ppm alarm test as existing method(by brush, pen) and check
operation condition of 15ppm alarm monitor.
② Before PSC inspection, carry out 15ppm bilge alarm test as existing
method(by brush, pen). If 15ppm monitoring is failed, calibration should
be carried out as follows.
③ If any problem or trouble is not shown, the calibration is not needed.

3) Calibration method
① Adjust the terminal voltage of “LED +/- test point”of Main Board to D.C
1.17V~1.2V by adjusting RV204 with using of multi-tester.
② Supply fresh water to bilge alarm monitor module
③ Adjust the terminal voltage between “Direct test point”and “0V test
point” by RV102 in Pre. Amp. Board to D.C 9V~ D.C 9.2V.
④ Adjust the terminal voltage between “Scatter test point”and “0V test
point” by RV101 in Pre. Amp. Board to D.C 0.5V~ D.C 0.6V.

⑤ Measure the terminal voltage between “output test point” and 0V test
point” and then it should be same as “X-value”as follows formula

SCATTER ÷ DIRECT × 10 = X

If the value is not same as the measured value, replace Pre. Amp. Board
or Main board.
Nevertheless if the value is not same, submit a repair requisition.

⑥ Adjust “0ppm” by adjusting the RV202 in Main Board.

⑦ Set the 15ppm alarm point by the RV205 in Main Board.
-. Set the instant alarm point by the RV206 in Main Board.
-. Set the delay alarm point by the RV207 in Main Board(Normal:2~3 sec).
⑧ Check the normal operating condition by pushing the call check
button(green).
