kegiatan/ kejadian tanpa perlu menyebutkan pelakunya dalam teks ilmiah, sesuai dengan konteks
penggunaannya. (Perhatikan unsur kebahasaan passive voice)

4.5 Menyusun teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan
meminta informasi terkait keadaan/tindakan/kegiatan/ kejadian tanpa perlu menyebutkan
pelakunya dalam teks ilmiah, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur
kebahasaan yang benar dan sesuai konteks

E. Indikator Pencapaian Kompetensi

 Peserta didik mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan
dalam teks ilmiah tanpa menyebutkan pelaku (passive voice).
 Peserta didik menjawab pertanyaan untuk meyimpulkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan
unsur kebahasaan teks eksposisi analitis
 Peserta didik membentuk kata kerja dalam kalimat menjadi bentuk passive.
 Peserta didik mengubah membentuk kata kerja dalam kalimat menjadi bentuk passive.
 Peserta didik melihat video untuk mendapatkan ide menulis teks.
 Peserta didik menyusun teks dengan mengaaplikasikan passive voice.

Dengan pendekatan saintifik, model pembelajaran berbasis 4C dan teknik blended learning, peserta
didik mampu Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi
transaksional lisan dan tulis dan Menyusun teks yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta
informasi terkait keadaan /tindakan/ kegiatan/ kejadian tanpa perlu menyebutkan pelakunya dalam
teks ilmiah dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan yang benar dan
sesuai konteks

ACTIVITY 2: Please read the following and answer the questions below!

HOW PAPER IS MADE

Paper is made from wood through the following process. First, the logs which are sawn from the trunks of
the trees are put in the shredder. Second, they are cut into small chips. Third, they are mixed with water
and acid. Next they are heated with crushed to heavy pulp. Then, it is also chemically bleached to whiten
it. After this, it is passed through rollers to flatten it. Then, sheets of wet paper are produced. Finally, the
water is removed from the sheets. These sheets are pressed, dried, and refined until the finished paper is
produced.

ACTIVITY 3. Please read the information below to have good comprehension about passive voice!

The definition:
A passive voice is a type of a clause or sentence in which an action (through verb), or an object of a
sentence, is emphasized rather than its subject. Simply, the subject receives the action of the verb. The
emphasis or focus is on the action, while the subject is not known or is less important.

The social function:


Social function is to focus on the subject of the sentence and to make sentence more polite.

The Formula :
Subject + to be + Verb 3

To be : be / is / am/ are / was / were / been

Notes :

How to change active voice into passive one


• Change the object into the subject.
• (with/without) AUXILIARY VERB.
• Write To be [be (is, am, are), was, were, been].
• Write the Verb 3 of the verb in active sentence.
• “by + object pronoun / actor“ to inform the actor of the activity.
Examples :

1. A : He breaks the glass every day.


P : The glass is broken by him every day.

2. A : He broke the glass yesterday.


P : The glass was broken by him yesterday.

3. A : You has broken the glasses.


P : The glasses has been broken by you.

4. A : They will break the glass tomorrow.


P : The glass will be broken by them tomorrow.
5. A : She is breaking the glasses now.
P : The glasses are being broken by her now.

6. A : We have been breaking the glass since 9 a.m.


P : The glass has been being broken by us since 9 a.m.

ACTIVITY 5: Please change the verbs in the brackets into passive forms!

In case of emergency on the aircraft, we must wear the life jacket. It ____________ ( locate) under your
