SOLO AND DUO SINGING CONTEST

Background and Rationale

Filipinos' singing abilities are tied to their culture, as singing has

always been an important part of the Filipino soul. Almost every
traditional ceremony includes some form of singing or musical
performance. Filipinos' inherent positive disposition is our favorite
reason, stemming from the idea that we developed our singing talents in
an effort to stay optimistic while coping with our problems.

The solo and duo singing contests have been chosen as two of the
main highlight activities for the MultifaCTEDgarbo 2022 in order to
mainstream the singing skills of students in the College of Teacher
Education, Negros Oriental State University-Main Campus. Moreover,
these competitions are proposed to improve and/or develop the cognitive,
emotional, and social skills necessary for building and improving one's
self-confidence, sense of competitiveness, and enthusiasm.
