their desired mark-up percentage is 10%, how much would be ABC Tours’ total net

cost?

Given: PHP 30,000 = net cost ; 10% = mark-up percentage

Formula: net cost x markup percentage

markup + net cost = Tour Operator net

Solution:

30,000 x 0.10 = PHP 3,000

3,000 + 30,000 = PHP 33,000

Tour Operator’s net cost = PHP 33,000

2. If a van costs PHP5,000 per unit and can load a maximum of 14 passengers with a

pre-determined number of nine (9) passengers, how much would be the prorated cost?

Given: PHP 5,000 = total cost of vehicle ; 9 = pre-determined number of

passengers

Formula: total cost of vehicle / pre-determined number of passengers

Solution:

PHP 5,000 / 9 = 556

Prorated cost = PHP 556
