Taking into account how some of the following are distributed, which measures of central
location would most effectively describe:
A. travel distance to work?
B. the most popular model of car?
C. earnings of manual workers in the UK?
D. cost of a typical food item?
E. holiday destinations?
F. working days lost through strikes?

MY ANSWER:
A. travel distance to work

As you see, if you travel distance to work. There are things that you need to
compute, like the time, distance. How far you travel to your work. Measures of location
describe the central tendency of the data. A third measure of location is the mode. This is the value
that occurs most frequently, or, if the data are grouped, the grouping with the highest frequency. It
is not used much in statistical analysis, since its value depends on the accuracy with which the data
are measured; although it may be useful for categorical data to describe the most frequent
category.
