Our contemporary culture provides challenges for those involved in youth and young adult ministry. Join
three distinguished guests who will share ideas and practices aimed at successfully sharing the faith with
our youth.

Mike Buckler graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in History

and from the University of Notre Dame with a Master of Divinity. He worked
full-time in youth and young adult ministry for 16 years, and has experience
in parish life, diocesan ministry, as well as Catholic schools. Mike, his wife,
and four children have begun a new adventure in South Bend, Indiana where
Mike now serves as Associate Director of Campus Ministry at the University
of Notre Dame.

Dan Dentino is the VP for Student life at Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Dentino has extensive Catholic higher education experience over the last 25 years
and a deep appreciation for the commitment to academic excellence, ongoing
conversion, integration of faith and reason, and call to joyful discipleship. Dentino
earned his undergraduate degree from Franciscan University, a master’s from
Providence College, and a PhD in systematic theology from Duquesne University.
He has taught university-level theology and philosophy courses for more than 20
years. Originally from Illinois, Dentino is married to Mary (Helgeson), a Franciscan
University graduate of the Class of 2002. At last count, the couple has four children.

Ryan Phelan is the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the
Diocese of St Petersburg. He and his wife, Sarah, have 3 children. Ryan has
been in ministry for over 15 years.

He received a Bachelors in Marketing from Temple University and a

Masters in Theology from Saint Leo University. His passions in ministry
involve World Youth Day, March for Life and service.
