Structure: so …that

 “So” is an adverb.
  used before an adjective or another adverb
  meaning: “very, to such a great degree”
 SO + ADJECTIVE/ ADVERB
 The chicken was so delicious.
 Those pictures are so beautiful.
 He’s done it so well.
 The baby is moving so slowly.

 SO + ADJECTIVE/ ADVERB + THAT + CLAUSE


So … that: show cause and effect.

 James was so tired that he couldn’t finish the test on time.


 (James was too tired to finish the test on time.)
 Nina was so sleepy that she couldn’t concentrate on the lessons.
 (Nina was too sleepy to concentrate on the lessons.)
 The man ran so slowly that he didn’t win the race.
 (The man ran too slowly to win the race.)
 He speaks so loud that the baby can’t sleep.
 (He speaks too loud for the baby to sleep.)
