The following program music conveyed various of emotions. To elaborate:
1. Romeo and Juliet Overture- Fantasy by Peter ILyich Tchaikovsky
- It evoked feelings of both love and violence. It shares an emotion with increasing urgency as the piece proceeds, until it slows down in a soft tone, implying their terrible deaths.
2. “Dream of a Witches’ Sabbath” from Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz
- The piece conveys a sense of despair. Listening to it, I believe that the piece develops multiple personalities.
3. Les Preludes by Franz Liszt
- Majestic and mysterious. It gives you a picture of princesses and princes.
4. “Wedding March” from A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Felix Mendelsohn
- It exudes a sense of completion and welcome. The composition screams royalty vibe.
