Question:

What were the causes that led to the end of the

Renaissance?

Answer:
The wealth of the Italians and the Roman Catholic
Church were used to fund Renaissance art. However, wars
between Italian regions and against other European
countries reduced the arts' resources. The famine became
so bad that even the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V's
soldiers revolted and plundered Rome. The transfer of
trading routes from Italy to the west, which further
drained Italian revenue, was added to this. Many
Christians, especially priests, were disillusioned by
allegations of church corruption.
