Division and Discrimination

Once, I read that you only need simple things to divide people. Simple things include
rumors, baseless accusations, and misunderstandings. From the video, I had many
realizations about education, discrimination, and society. Thus, I agree when the
professor stated that we are most likely not to understand people's sufferings unless we
experience the same. Regarding discrimination, I believe that it is either we grew up in a
discrimination-filled environment, or we unconsciously accepted that some have less
worth than us. Concerning education and society, the impact of life lessons and
manners taught to us at a young age will surely prevail in later years.
Regarding this sensitive topic, I appreciate the teacher's way of teaching a life
lesson to children. She did not yell nor try to talk to each of them but immersed them in
the situation happening in the real world. Thus, those collars are like chains. These
chains restrained people from doing things they wanted to try. These came from the
society, passed on from different periods, and consequently multiplying. Consequently,
many may have thought that belonging to a particular group or possess any noticeable
means can. However, the truth is these chains are breakable, and our will to change
can annihilate discriminating mindsets.
