REVIEW CANECK

Canek is a story that narrates the rebellion of the Mayan people, in the
middle of the "XVIII" century in Yucatan, against the Spanish conquerors.
Jacinto Canek, the main character, becomes the head of the people's
uprising that seeks to recover, through struggle, his dignity. The boy Guy
and the girl Eva conceive the world from ingenuity, generosity and
understanding. they bring poetry to the text and embody, for Canek, the
beauty of simple things, the purity of feelings. Both in their
defenselessness and their naivety, dye the story of nostalgia.
Canek, in our times, leaves us the teaching that, despite the physical
differences, such as customs and the way of acting, unites us in one or
such way that despite the fact that we are different, and there is a gap in
those or more aspects that differentiate us from other regions.
