A. Sequence of Creation

1. In the beginning, earth was formless and empty. God created light.
2. God created space to separate waters of the earth and heaven. God called this space "sky'
3. Dry ground, seas and vegetations.
4. God made two great lights, one to govern the day "sun" and one for the night "moon". He also
created stars.
5. Sea creatures and creatures that fly in the sky.
6. God made land animals and human beings with his own image.
7. God finished his creation and rested. He blessed and declared the seventh day as holy.

B. The meaning of the name: ADAM and EVE

Adam means "the ground" or "earth".

Eve means the sources of life or mother of the living.

C. The greatest gift given by God to Adam and Eve

Eternal life/ Original holiness and justice

D. Other gifts given to them

God gave them the preternatural gifts, namely capacities & powers above and beyond the powers of
created human nature, but not beyond the powers of angelic nature. The seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit,
& the infused (theological and cardinal) virtues.

E. The punishment given after they sinned

Eve will receive so much pain while on pregnancy and during birth. She will ruled by his husband. On the
other hand, Adam will struggle and suffer all his life to work at the ground for a living for he is made
from the dust, and to the dust he will return.
