Between Health and Lifestyle for College Student

By :

There are many phenomena of people who have an unhealthy lifestyle. Starting from
excessive work activities, irregular sleeping hours, infrequent exercise, and even an effect on
unhealthy and irregular eating patterns. The habit of an unhealthy lifestyle will cause many
degenerative diseases, for example heart disease, diabetes, stroke, hypertension, cholesterol,
and many other examples of diseases. Not only habits of eating patterns that can trigger
unhealthy lifestyles that occur in society. But also from the habit of being a workaholic, it also
becomes a form of an unhealthy lifestyle.
High mobility, requires people to continue to work quickly, ultimately forcing most
people to quickly complete their work. This is also felt by students who have a pile of task
demands, which then makes students have to sit for a long time in front of their computers to
complete assignments with deadlines. This is exacerbated by infrequent exercise and not
eating healthy foods, making health even more insecure.
Of course this if left for a long time will have an impact on disturbed health. The
effect is not felt at a young age, but will be felt in old age. This can actually be anticipated by
changing your lifestyle to be healthier. You can start with a regular sleep pattern, nutritious
food, positive thinking and also diligently exercising. With regard to doing sports, it can be
done by many other activities. Running, jogging, swimming and many other things.
So when it comes to regulations that require students to attend the gym on campus, it's
not a wise thing. This is of course because the awareness to be diligent in exercising is from
the person's personality, not on the basis of coercion. So of course, if it is forced, it will have
an impact, not being voluntary, but rather coercive. Another thing that is also the main focus
is related to a lifestyle that supports a healthy lifestyle, not only by being forced to exercise,
but also by sleeping and eating patterns. Thus, sport is something that must be supported by
other healthy lifestyle activities on a voluntary basis and not coercion.
From the phenomenon that occurs with unhealthy lifestyles due to high mobility
demands, which force them to focus on work demands, each individual must be able to
complete work quickly. The effects obtained will have an impact on the health problems
experienced. So to anticipate this, it must be from within the person for self-motivation, not
only from coercion. Moreover, if exercise is forced, it will not create a sense of happiness, so
making policies related to a healthy lifestyle, let alone forcing students to join the gym, is not
a wise decision.
