A report on the teenage fashion in my country

Introduction
This report is intended to outline the styles or the items of clothing that are in fashion at the
moment and to explain if the fashion it is or not important for teenagers. I will also make suggestions
for future improvements in that industry.

Fashion among teenagers

Fashion is a very large industry that has taken over the world and over the social media. Nowadays
every brand is having his own marketing campaign that targets the young audience. A lot of public
persons are endorsing a variety of clothing items and entice teenagers to buy them. Having that in
mind, we can say that fashion is a very important part in our life. In my opinion, that can be put on
the fact that it can gets up to influencing our way of thinking. The styles that are in fashion at the
moment are the vintage, bohemian, chic, arty and casual and the items of clothing are the ones
associated with each style, including the oversized clothes.

The negative effects of the importance of fashion

Despite the fact that we have a variety of styles to choose from, a lot of teenagers are influenced by
social media to adopt a certain one because they want to be in trend. That action leads to a change
of personality. For example a girl that prefers to wear casual clothes may feel pressured to wear
tight clothes by the “popular girls”, in order to not be pushed around by them. Another negative
aspect of fashion among teenagers is represented by discrimination. As in the example stated
previously, a lot of kids are bullied in school because they don’t have expensive or trendy clothes.
For instance, this leads them to become obsessed with their appearance.

Recommendations for the fashion industry

The obvious conclusion to be drawn from these facts is the fashion industry has a very negative
impact on teenagers. Having taken everything into consideration, I recommend the brands and
advertisers to promote the idea of being unique, that everybody has its one style and that we
shouldn’t copy the fashion icons that we see every day on social media. Moreover, the thought that
an expensive item is the best one should be taken down, because there are a lot of cozy and nice
items at accessible prices for everybody. This would help children to develop and color their own
personality, including their own style
