APPLICATION
Lube is an effective lubricant for reducing torque and drag in water-based fluids. Lube is stable at high
temperatures and also lubricates well at extreme pressure.
The normal concentration for Lube treatments is in the range 0.5% to 1.5% by volume. Higher
concentrations may be beneficial, provided there are improvements in torque, drag and other drilling
parameters.
Lube is a modified cellulose derivative. The product is environmentally friendly and supplies the
lubricating properties of oil in water-based fluids without using diesel oil or similar pollutants.
The alkalinity of Lube is pH 7.5, so it can be added to water-based systems without having an
adverse effect on mud parameters or other chemical additives.
Lube is supplied 55 gal (208 lt) steel drums. Contents valid for 2 years from manufacturing date on
the drum.
HSE
Lube may be an irritant on contact with skin and may be harmful if ingested. The following safety
wear, as recommended in the MSDS, should be used when mixing Lube:
- Standard PPE
- Chemical Splash Goggles or Face Shield
