Qualifying adjectives describe people or things (same gender & number)

Article + noun + adjective

A narrow street

Remember the gender rules in Section 1?

Adjectius: gender

if the masculine ends with e (without accent)

we replace it with an a in the feminine

pobre pobra poor

ample ampla wide

negre negra black

if the masculine ends with u (-au, -eu, -iu, -ou)

we generally replace it with va in the feminine

monosyllable that ends with a vowel
we usually replace it with na in the feminine
