Topic: The Crests and Troughs of High School

Specific Purpose: By the end of this speech, my audience will be entertained and inspired by the
stories I have of my high school life, especially nowadays where classes are being conducted online.

INTRODUCTION
Transition to body of speech: High school is like a wave, constantly changing with every
moment. In this wave we call high school, there are crests and throughs.

BODY
First main point: The crests of high school include the moments we find happiness and
satisfaction.
Subpoint: The joyful memories we made are ones we’ll never forget.
Sub-sub point: We look back fondly on the times we spend with our friends.
Sub-sub point: We’ll always remember the fun activities in the classroom.
Subpoint: Others find happiness in getting good grades and winning competitions.

Transition to second main point: Along with the crests, there are also the troughs.

Second main point: The troughs of high school are the times of pain and disappointment.
Subpoint: We are bound to make mistakes when we are young.
Sub-sub point: We may say or do things we don’t mean.
Sub-sub point: We may do things we know are bad because of curiosity.
Subpoint: We feel disappointed when things don’t go our ways.

Transition to third main point: Knowing high school is a wave that has crests and troughs, it
also has its equilibrium.

Third main point: In the equilibrium of the high school wave, we grow.
Subpoint: After every crest and trough, we learn things that help us grow as individuals.
Subpoint: We build our identities and find our purposes in life after reflecting and getting
to know ourselves better.
Subpoint: The memories we make and the people we meet shape us to be better versions
of ourselves.

Transition to conclusion: The wave of high school and its crests, troughs, and equilibrium all
lead to our growth and fulfillment.
