MODELING AND SIMULATION - (QUIZ)

1. List five elements of network resources that connected with network

simulation and modeling.

 Link – wired or wireless types of link.

 Capacity – The port and capacity of router and switch
 Scalability - The ability of a process, network, software or organization to
grow and manage increased demand. A system, business or software that is
described as scalable has an advantage because it is more adaptable to the
changing needs or demands of its users or clients.
 Availability - Network availability is the amount of uptime in a network
system over a specific time interval. Uptime refers to the amount of time a
network is fully operational. Network availability is measured as a percentage
and is monitored to ensure the service being provided is consistently kept
running for end-users.
 Security - Network security is the process of taking physical and software
preventative measures to protect the underlying networking infrastructure
from unauthorized access, misuse, malfunction, modification, destruction, or
improper disclosure, thereby creating a secure platform for computers, users,
and programs.

2. How important are pause and stop in modeling?

 Important are pause and stop modeling the allowm the use to stop temporary
the simulation for analyzing the current in a scenario, what are happening at
that time.
 Stopping in modeling allow the use to stop the simulation in anytime, it allow
the simulation stop work and collect just the running process that happened
and user can create new simulation. s

3. What is Discrete Event Simulation and how it is connected to State such as

System State?

 Discrete-event simulation concerns the modeling of a system as it evolves

over time by a representation in which the state variables change
instantaneously at separate points in time. Or the system can change at
only a countable number of points in time.
 Event is defined as an instantaneous occurrence that may change the state
of the system.
 System State : The collection of state variables necessary to describe the
system at a particular time.

4. Reward and Action very much related as the motivation to move from one
state to another. Please explain the important of both.

Reward: This is a scalar value that provides quantitative feedback on the action
that the agent took at timestep t. This could, for example, be 100 points as a
reward for reaching destination. The agent’s objective is to maximize the rewards
it accumulates, and so rewards are what reinforce productive behaviors that the
agent discovers under particular environmental conditions.

Action: tells an agent what action to take under what circumstances. It does not
require a model (hence the connotation "model-free") of the environment, and it
can handle problems with stochastic transitions and rewards, without requiring
adaptations
