Based on the first documents, answer the following questions:
 What is Linguistics?
Linguistics is the science that deals with the study of the organization and characteristics of a
language, together with its branches, grammar, phonology and semantics. The task of linguistics
will be: Demonstrate the essence of the social function of language. Make the description and
history of all the languages that can be dealt with, which is equivalent to making the history of
the language families and reconstructing the mother tongues of each family as much as possible
 What is the relation between Linguistics with the Sociolinguistics' study object?
Its objective is to identify and try to explain processes of linguistic change within the different
groups of society. Approaches language in its context of social use. For Sociolinguistics,
Linguistic expressions are intimately related to social contexts; they are part of a culture
 How does language or the use of the “meaning of words” become a tool of Social
and Political power?
Language arises from the interaction of three different adaptive systems: individual learning,
cultural transmission, and biological evolution
 Why is it important to carry out Socio - linguistics studies?
For this reason, the importance of Sociolinguistics in human social relations in a given society is
very clear, based on the use that its individuals can make of the complex system of language to
adapt to momentary speech situations
