Analysis of Roof Truss

Roof trusses are exposed to different types of loads which are distributed over
its length; however, truss analysis calls for simplifications of the load to be
nodal.

Loads acting on a truss:


1. Dead Load – roofing, insulation, ceiling, purlins, etc.
2. Live Load – snow, people, etc.
3. Wind Load – windward or leeward; always perpendicular to the roof
