I think social learning theory relates to my own personal gender development. Since I
lived in a rural environment, social interaction plays a huge role in my early years of development.
Social learning revolves around both behavior and cognitive learning and applying it in real life
situations. That is why back then when gender inclusivity is not a thing, a child will prone to knowing
just one side of the social spectrum. But as I grow older, I’m more exposed on multitudinous people
with different personalities and experiences. Therefore, seeing two sides of a coin, especially towards
gender stereotypes and biased media representation. This is how I shaped my knowledge and
understanding through social learning about these important topics till this day.
