critical to developing skills in science

incorporate / modify its use for one lesson.

Identify more possible uses of technologies, software and applications for a specific
area / subject in science.

Session 1: Teaching and Exploring Investigative Projects and Science Research

General Objective: Design and collaborate on innovative science research topics and
projects

Proficient Teacher:

Propose innovative, relevant and practical research topics or projects that can be
implemented within 1 semester or school year (online, if necessary).

Highly Proficient Teacher:

Identify and recommend research methodologies for the proposed research topic or
project.

Session 3: Virtual Teaching of Practical and Hands-on Science

General Objective: Demonstrate and design the use of practical, DIY and hand-on
application of science concepts that may be used in lieu of laboratory-based
experiments

Proficient Teachers:

Identify science concepts that can be effectively demonstrated with home-based,


practical, DIY experiments.

Highly Proficient Teachers:

Design a sample lesson with an accompanying activity that can be effectively delivered
virtually

Session 4: Science Teaching from an Outcomes-based and Contextualized


Approach in an Online or Modular context

General Objective: Develop a deeper understanding of OBE principles and


contextualization

What are the challenges of implementing the OBE framework and contextualization for
teaching science?

Highly Proficient Teachers:

What strategies can be effectively used to address perceived challenges to the


implementation of OBE and contextualization?
