The picture below (dwg 1540251 Pg 9-25) shows the motors electrical connections for a typical 9000

WPL with two infeed conveyors, connected to the Common IO board.

The picture below (dwg 1540251 Pg13-25) shows the motor electrical connections for additional
motors connected to a CAN Motor board.

CAN motor configuration

The configuration for each of the motors fitted to a 9000 WPL can be found in the CAN Motor
configuration page. The CAN Motor Configuration page can be found by navigating to: Main Menu\
Control Panel\System Configuration\Can Motor Definitions\CAN Motor Configuration\.
Each motor is shown on an individual line within the CAN motor configuration screen.

Configuration data fields

Function
The Function field defined what the individual motor is used for e.g. is it an infeed 1 motor or
perhaps a weigh head motor Etc.

CAN board
The CAN board field defines the CAN address of the board the individual motor is connected to.
Usually, the Common IO board is the first board to be represented so the first four motors are
usually on CAN board address 19. Although the Common IO resides at address 18, the motors will
assume a CAN address one higher than the Common IO board itself hence CAN address 19.

CAN Motor boards usually have a CAN address starting at CAN address 29 to CAN address 35.

Number
The Number field represents the software socket the motor is connected to. There are four
available software sockets per CAN board. Software socket numbers are 0, 1, 2 & 3. They relate to
the physical connector numbering as per the table below.
Type
The Type function Set’s the motor type. The 9000 WPL uses either BG62 or BG65 Motor. The most
common motor type used is the BG65. Each motor will have the motor type marked on its
specification plate.

CAN motor calibration

Selecting the CAN motor calibration button will start the calibration wizard. Follow the on screen
instructions to calibrate each motor.
