Elon Hosts Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Event
Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 - For Immediate Release

Elon, North Carolina. - On Thursday, Sept. 24 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., the Student
Professional Development Center (SPDC) at Elon University will host a Diversity, Equity and
Inclusion (DEI) networking event to allow students to virtually connect with employers. Students
can register for the event on the Elon Job Network (EJN) at https://elon-csm.symplicity.com/.

The DEI Meet and Greet will allow students the opportunity to introduce themselves, share their
resumes with supervisors, and connect with employers. This event also gives minority students
the opportunity to hear from companies about their DEI programs and/or the culture of the
company.

Alysia McGlone, SPDC Career Advising Fellow for the 2020-2021 academic year, advises
students to “research the companies prior to the event to find out their interests, hiring needs, as
well as to learn about their diversity initiatives” in order to ask thoughtful and meaningful
questions during the event.

The DEI event will then be followed by a discussion with Philip A. Nardone Jr., the CEO and
founder of PAN Communications from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. He will discuss his personal
relationship with diversity in the public relations industry. Students can access the event through
a Zoom link at
