In his article, Fred Anderson states, "The [French and Indian] war was a momentous
American turning point." To what extent do you agree or disagree with Anderson’s
statement? Does your other reading support or oppose Anderson’s view?

Write a three- to four-paragraph journal entry discussing the extent to which the
French and Indian War was a turning point in American history. Support your position
with evidence from Anderson’s article, which is available on the AP U.S. History
Research Library, and your textbook or online readings. Remember to state a clear
thesis.

with evidence from the texts.

• Make sure you use evidence from both Anderson's article and your other readings.

• Make sure you write a clear thesis statement. Do not begin by saying "I agree with
Fred Anderson." Instead, begin with something like "The French and Indian War was
momentous because" and then lead into the rest of your thesis statement.

• Write a minimum of three paragraphs.

The French and Indian war was a big war that involved the entire eastern half of North
America that ruined relations, the fight between the colonies and the Indians had begun.
The French and Indian war was a BIG turning point in history where the colonies fought
against the Indians for lots of land.
The French and Indian war was a turning point in history, as Fred Anderson states “a
world war.” This war changed the balance of power in the colonies and killed of any
Indians that were still alive after the diseases brought to the New world. Fred Anderson
talks about in his article about the involvement of the eastern half of North America, he
states as “The prize was the Eastern half of North America.” Another statement from
Fred Andersons article he also talks about the relations with the Indians and the
colonies during and after the war saying that they were ‘deranged” stated “the
bloodshed and captive-taking of the war and the postwar insurrection deranged
relations between Indians and Anglo-American colonists. Even in Pennsylvania, a colony
that had never known an Indian war before 1755.” Overall, the French and Indian war
ruined the relations between the Indians and the colonies and was a giant fight for land.

In conclusion, the French and Indian war brought much chaos and destruction to the
continent, it ruined relationships, it took many lives, and lots of land was conquered.
